Coast to Jungle: 4-Day Santa Marta Enduro Tour

Starting from Santa Marta, this route heads into the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, the largest coastal mountain range on the planet. You'll ride goat trails through thick jungle, climb to 10,000 feet, and wind back down to the Caribbean coast.

Many of the trails on this route are completely off the map. Over ten years we've scouted the best off-road tracks, jungle paths and hidden backroads in northern Colombia to build something you won't find anywhere else. Expect technical trails, river crossings and huge views.

Off the bike: river tubing with a drink in hand, cliff jumping into jungle waterfalls, sunset on the beach and a tour of the oldest coffee farm in northern Colombia.

DAY 1: SANTA MARTA TO BURITACA (4 hrs riding)
Cruise up and down the coastal hills to Palomino. Wood-fired Italian pizza at Prima Luna, then all-you-can-drink river tubing in Buritaca. Overnight at the award-winning Rio Hostel.

DAY 2: BURITACA TO GUACHACA (5 hrs riding)
Ride Quebrada del Sol, a goat trail from sea level to 1,000m with sand, rivers and views around every corner. Cliff jump at Quebrada Valencia waterfall, then sunset at our favourite beach, Los Hermanos.

DAY 3: GUACHACA TO MINCA (5 hrs riding)
Hope you're well rested. Hidden swimming holes and trails around Paso del Mango, lunch and a tour of Caoba Biological Reserve, then the backroads to Minca put your off-road skills to the test. Overnight in the jungle at Casas Viejas, with a heated infinity pool looking out over the valley and the ocean.

DAY 4: MINCA TO SANTA MARTA (6 hrs riding)
Ride out in the dark to catch sunrise at Cerro Kennedy, the highest accessible point in the Sierra Nevada. Marinka and Pozo Azul waterfalls, La Victoria coffee farm, and a feast of smoked meats at Camarita's before rolling back into Santa Marta by 3-4pm.

Best for: Intermediate to advanced riders comfortable with dirt, mud and river crossings. Previous off-road experience strongly recommended.
